Terrain
The San Gaudenzio Run is held in Fagnano Olona, in the province of Varese in Lombardy, with a choice of a 5 km and a 10 km distance on the same morning. Both races set off at 9:30, so runners on either distance share the same start and the same atmosphere. The event is organised by A.S.D. Circuito Running and sits in the calendar in mid-January, when the Po valley is usually cold and the ground can be damp underfoot.

Other questions
Mid January in the Lombardy plain is usually cold, with temperatures often close to zero in the early morning and a chance of fog or damp air. Layering up and packing gloves and a hat is a sensible plan.
