5K-10K Villa de Castuera

Expect bib collection or check-in in Castuera before the start. Bring ID and your registration confirmation if requested. Arrive early, especially for the 10K, to allow time for toilets, warm-up, bag drop if available, and any pre-race briefing. The 5K and 10K may start together or in separate waves, so listen carefully to announcements and know which distance you are running. The start area may be busy, so position yourself according to your expected pace.

The event description says runners can choose between the 5K and 10K on the day, but the final procedure depends on the organiser. If you want to change distance, ask at check-in or the information point before the start. You may need a new bib or timing chip, and a change may not be possible once the race has started. Do not run a different distance without informing the organisers, as it can affect results and safety tracking.

Castuera has limited accommodation, so book early if you are travelling for the race. Options may include small hotels, hostales, rural houses, and apartments. Nearby towns within driving distance can also work if Castuera is full. If you rely on public transport, choose accommodation near the start, finish, or bus stop. Check cancellation policies in case race details change.

No trail shoes are needed because the 5K-10K Villa de Castuera is a road race. Use road running shoes with good cushioning and a comfortable fit. If rain is forecast, choose shoes with decent grip on wet asphalt. Test your shoes and socks before race day to avoid blisters. Lightweight racing shoes are optional, but comfort and stability matter more for most participants.
