The Tenpaizan Road Race is staged at Chikushino City General Park in Fukuoka Prefecture, on a road course with so little change in elevation that it is described as almost completely flat and well suited to runners chasing a personal best. The programme covers a JAAF-certified 10km, two certified 5km divisions and a 2.5km Manyo no Tsukushiji course, with categories for general runners, high school students, junior high school students and primary school children in years four to six. There is no race-day registration at all: the number card, T-shirt and timing chip are posted out beforehand, and runners who forget them cannot start. Everyone is asked to be at the start area 20 minutes before their division goes off, and a finish certificate with the recorded time is issued on the spot near the finish line. After the race, runners can soak away their aches in Futsukaichi Onsen, the hot spring village celebrated in the Manyoshu poetry anthology.

Yes, baggage storage is available, but valuables cannot be stored and there is a limit on the number of items accepted.
Runners registered with an athletics association should enter their 2026 association registration details in the member information on their My Page before applying. Anyone whose registration is still being processed should select their planned association and enter 'application in progress' in the registration number, organisation name and JAAF ID fields, then update their RUNNET member information themselves before the entry deadline.
