Staged in Tamba Sasayama in Hyogo Prefecture, about an hour from Kobe, Osaka and Kyoto, this certified 42.195km road marathon sends runners from the east side of Tamba Sasayama City Hall through an old castle town and the surrounding satoyama countryside to a finish at the Sannomaru Plaza of Sasayama Castle ruins. The 6 hour 30 minute limit is enforced at checkpoints at 6.8km, 18.2km, 24.1km, 30.6km and 36.3km. A two-person relay runs over the same course with legs of roughly 19km and 23km. Race packets containing the athlete bib, timing chip and baggage bag are posted out in mid-February, and a paid marathon bus service links the Keihanshin area with the event.

Yes. Entry closes as soon as the capacity is reached, even if the published entry period has not yet ended, so it is worth applying early.
No. Duplicate entries by the same person are not accepted, and the transfer of entry rights and proxy running are both prohibited. The only way to hand your place to someone else is through the official Yuzureru transfer service.
Yes, baggage storage is available, but valuables cannot be stored and your bag must fit inside the dedicated baggage bag sent with your race pack.
No. There is a registered division for competitors registered with the JAAF for the 2026 fiscal year and a general division for unregistered runners. Registered division applicants need to have their JAAF registration details, including a JAAF ID, on their RUNNET My Page.
Runners with a disability who cannot run unaided may use an accompanying guide runner, and anyone wanting a guide runner bib should contact the race office before entering. Guide dogs, bicycle pacing and wheelchairs are not permitted.
