Overview

The Kasugai Marathon returns for its 45th edition on the second Sunday of January, based at the Kasugai City General Gymnasium in Aichi Prefecture. Four events share the day: a 10 km race for runners from high school age upwards, a 3 km race for junior high school students, a 2 km race for fifth and sixth grade primary pupils, and a 3 km jogging event open to primary school children and above. The course is flat and quick underfoot, following city streets where residents line the roadside and cheer the runners through. Numbers and participation prizes are collected at the gymnasium on the Friday or Saturday before race day, or on the morning itself, and every runner finishes back where they started. Finish certificates are downloaded online after the event by those who complete the course inside the time limit.
