It is an elimination race. Everyone starts a 6.7 km loop at the same moment, on the hour, every hour. Runners who are not back at the start line in time for the next start are eliminated, and the last person still completing laps is the winner.
All remaining runners leave together at the top of each hour, the first lap going off at 08:00. The time left over between finishing a lap and the next start is yours to rest, eat and change kit.
No. You run as many laps as you can within the hourly limit and you are out when you can no longer complete a lap in time.
Each 6.7 km lap has around 43 metres of ascent and the same descent, with light gradients and a mostly flat overall profile.
You are eliminated from the race. In a backyard ultra this is the normal way a runner's day ends, and there is no penalty beyond leaving the event.
