The central event point is the Strombad Cottbus at Stromstraße 14, 03046 Cottbus. A bus transfer runs from there to the start in Bad Muskau, and runners then make their way back towards Cottbus on foot.
The route is a trail course that runs through the Muskauer Faltenbogen and along the Spreeaue, with forest tracks, waterside paths and built up sections as it approaches Cottbus. Around 400 metres of climbing and descending are spread across the 58 km.
Yes. The organisers state that food stations are set up along the route.
The race takes place in the middle of winter in eastern Saxony and Brandenburg, so cold, wet and possibly icy or snow covered ground is possible. Plan clothing and shoes for low temperatures and check the organiser website for any last minute notices before travelling.
The climbing is modest at roughly 400 metres over 58 km, so the challenge comes mainly from the distance and from winter conditions rather than from steep terrain. It suits runners who already have a marathon or shorter ultra behind them.
