The 12K route is a point-to-point journey across the Isthmus of Corinth, starting at the Ancient Diolkos and finishing at the Archaeological Museum of Isthmia. Runners head towards the isthmus with panoramic views over the Corinth Canal, cross the Old Isthmus Bridge and continue towards Kalamaki, where the course meets the historic trace of the presumed eastern entrance of the Diolkos. The race is run on road and the field is capped at 300 runners, with registration closing earlier if the cap is reached and no entries taken on race day. The Isthmian Games are a modern event inspired by the ancient Isthmian Games, first held in 2024, using running as a way to explore the history and landscape of the Isthmia area.
