The Barátság Maraton takes over the streets and campus roads of Miskolc-Egyetemváros each October, with a 5.27 km loop forming the spine of the whole day. Runners can take on anything from a single lap in the Minimaraton up to eight laps for the full marathon, while four-person relay teams split the half marathon distance lap by lap. The route is flat and fast asphalt around the university, and an electronic race clock at the start/finish gate lets runners check their lap splits as they pass. Chip timing, a finisher medal for everyone who crosses the line and refreshments on every lap round out the day, and 600 m and 1.8 km children's races open the morning.

Payment must arrive within five working days of submitting your online entry. Registrations without payment are deleted after five working days, and any unpaid entries are removed on 14 October.
Yes. Distance changes are free up to one week before the race if you reply to your confirmation email. On race day, pre-registered runners can switch distance for a 1,000 HUF cash fee.
Yes. The event's uniquely branded polo shirt can be ordered together with your pre-registration until midnight on 4 October 2026 at www.maratonclubmiskolc.hu. The shirt costs 5,000 HUF.
Refreshments are available on every lap, so every 5.27 km, offering water, glucose tablets, isotonic sports drink, cola, sweets and fruit. You can hand in your own drinks at the refreshment tent between 09:00 and 10:00 on race day, 18 October 2026.
Each runner may only enter one individual race.
