Participants step off from Helena High School at 08:45 and follow the historic Hillsboro Trail before returning to the school flag pole to finish. Rucking with a 35 lb pack is preferred but never mandatory, and the march raises awareness for veteran suicide prevention while benefiting the veteran nonprofit Ultimate Experience Outdoors. A family friendly community event opens at the high school from 10:00 with bounce houses, vendors, food trucks and a kids' fun run, and at 11:00 a short Veteran's Day ceremony is followed by raffle drawings for sponsorship prizes.
