The 15th Annual LCEC 5K is a community road race staged at Jaycee Park in Cape Coral, Florida. The main 5K sets off at 7:30 in the morning, and the day carries on with a kids fun run and a tot trot for the youngest entrants. The event is hosted by LCEC in support of United Way, and it has raised more than 32,000 US dollars for the cause over its history. Entrants can pick up swag while supplies last and race for awards across a range of age categories, with adult and student categories as well as children's races. Fees work as a donation to the community if the event format changes, and a virtual option sits alongside the live race.
