Overview

Chiyoda is a quiet, green town on the water, and the race follows the Tone River past open farmland where the landscape has barely changed for generations. Everything starts and finishes at Chiyoda Town Eastern Sports Park on the morning of 17 January 2027, with the 10 km setting off at 10:00, the 5 km at 10:10 and the family pair race at 10:15. Runners cover paved riverside roads and flat rural lanes, and the town puts on its omotenashi hospitality service along the way. Entry is limited to one distance per person, numbers and timing chips are posted out in advance, and there is no registration on race day.

Qualification

Documentary proof (証明書提示) must be presented. Juniors enter in the junior high or high school categories and the family race must be entered in the name of a guardian aged 18 or over.

Race Day

Numbers, timing chips, programmes and any parking tickets are posted to entrants roughly ten days before race day. There is no on-the-day registration and no opening ceremony. The 10 km starts at 10:00, the 5 km at 10:10 and the family pair race at 10:15, all from Chiyoda Town Eastern Sports Park. There are no prize awards.

ParkingDesignated event car parks are arranged by the race office. Entrants who want to use them must apply when they enter, and the parking ticket arrives with the number card. Access to some designated car parks is restricted at certain times while races are in progress, and some are a 5 to 10 minute walk from the venue, so allow extra time.

Public transportThe event page does not list specific train or bus arrangements, so check local routes to Chiyoda in Gunma Prefecture in advance and plan to arrive well before the 10:00 start. Driving with a pre-booked parking ticket is the most common option.

AccessibilityGuides for visually impaired runners must identify themselves clearly as guides; guides do not need to enter separately.

Before you enter

RefundsEntry fees are not refunded. Entries also close early once the field is full, even inside the stated entry window.

TransfersEntries can be transferred to another runner through RUNNET's Yuzureru service between 3 October and 17 November 2026; the service opens after the entry deadline or once the field is full.

If the race is cancelledIf the event is cancelled because of an earthquake, storm or flood damage, snow or an accident, entry fees are not refunded. There is no refund of the entry fee in any cancellation case.

Minimum ageYes. The town's junior high school 5 km and primary school 1.3 km events are free and are entered separately through moshicom at not through RUNNET

Time limitThe 10 km has a limit of 1 hour 30 minutes with three checkpoints on the course. The 5 km has a limit of 40 minutes. The family race has no time limit.
