The race base is in Lutry in the Lavaux region of the Vaud canton in Switzerland, on the northern shore of Lake Geneva. The courses climb through the terraced vineyards and the slopes above the village.
Both cover 10 km with about 350 m of climbing and descent. The W/NW version is aimed at walkers and nordic walkers who want a physical challenge at a walking pace, while the standard XTRA 10 is a run.
La VigneRun is the Saturday event, a 6 km run and walk with roughly 200 m of climbing that stops five times with local winegrowers for tastings, plus gourmet surprises along the way. It is a relaxed way to see the vineyards the day before the main races.
The XTRA 50 covers 50 km with 2,100 m of climbing and 2,100 m of descent, which makes it the toughest race of the weekend and a genuine endurance test on mountain trails above the lake.
Yes. The XTRATRAIL LAVAUX is listed as a UTMB World Series event and also features the UNESCO World Heritage Trophy and the Trophée Lausannois, so finishing times may count towards those classifications.
